Burger King Is Giving Away Free Whoppers Today

Burger King's 68th birthday is today, and to commemorate the occasion, the fast-food chain is offering a variety of promotions to consumers.

For one day only, Royal Perks members who spend $1 or more will receive a complimentary Whopper Jr. sandwich from the birthplace of the Whopper.

Simply place an order through Burger King's mobile app, internet, or at any participating restaurant to receive a free Whopper Jr.

On a sesame seed bun, the Whopper Jr. features a flame-grilled beef patty topped with a tomato slice, lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup, pickles, and sliced white onions.

Burger King is also redesigning its most famous symbol—the crown—by launching a limited-edition birthday crown developed in cooperation with Miami-based artist Romero Britto to keep the celebrations going.

Going to Burger King and ordering a Whopper with a crown is one of my earliest memories of migrating to the United States.

This collaboration felt like a perfect fit because it was the only restaurant I frequented—in fact, my first date with my wife was at a Burger King," Britto stated in a news release.

It's an honour to be able to recreate the iconic BK crown, and having been a fan of the company for so long, this collaboration brings it all full circle.

The new birthday crowns, which show a burger and fries in a pop-art style, are now available at participating stores around the country. They can also offer customers the chance to get a year's worth of Burger King food for free.

Burger King fans may enter for a chance to win by taking a selfie with the crown and sharing it on Instagram with the hashtag #BKCrownSweepstakes and tagging @burgerking. While supplies last, the bright crowns can be yours.

These limited-time offers follow Burger King's recent introduction of numerous new menu items.

This includes the distribution of free fries for the remainder of the year for Royal Perks members, the test of the Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwiches, the expansion of the 2 for $5 Mix 'n Match promotion, and the launch of the chain's Cheesy Breakfast Melts.
