Friends, one of the most well-known and cherished sitcoms in television history, has had an impact on both global pop culture and our kitchens.

The most famous meal from the show may be Ross' delectable Moistmaker sandwich, but right now, social media is going crazy about Jennifer Aniston's real-life favourite salad.

Ingredients

3 cups bulgur wheat, cooked (about 1 cup uncooked)
1 cup cucumber, chopped (about 1 English cucumber)
1/2 cup red onion, diced (about 1 small onion)
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
1 cup feta, crumbled
1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas/garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup pistachios, chopped
1/2 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped (optional)
1/4 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon Kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Step - 1

Cook the bulgur in a saucepan as directed on the package. Transfer to a bowl and allow it cool after thoroughly cooked.

Step - 2

Crisp up the turkey bacon in a frying pan. Remove, allow to cool, then cut roughly.

Step - 3

The remaining salad ingredients should now be chopped, sliced, diced, or even julienned, and placed on a cutting board.

Step - 4

As you would with any homemade vinaigrette, combine the lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.

Step - 5

In a serving bowl, combine all the ingredients and whisk in the dressing. Serve right away.

We enjoyed this salad cooled after two days in the fridge as much as at room temperature. It's a terrific recipe to prepare in advance for busy weeknight dinners or meal prep for lunches.
