With menu changes and the Mexican Pizza's heralded comeback, Taco Bell has recently made a lot of unexpected moves.
However, there is one thing that the Tex-Mex chain clearly heard from its customers—they want pizzas with a taco motif. And it is prepared to fulfil.
The chain just introduced a Cheesy Chipotle Chicken Flatbread in test sites in Charlotte, however it's not quite a slice of pie.
The flatbread is topped with tortilla strips, onions, cheese that has been baked, marinated chicken, and a creamy chipotle sauce. Jalapenos can also be added for an additional heat sensation by spice lovers.
The flatbread costs $3.99, and it can be ordered as part of a meal for $6.99 that also includes a Crunchy Taco and a large fountain drink.
The product is now only offered in Charlotte, but if it proves popular, it might become available nationwide.
Taco Bell has been on a roll when it comes to creative ideas. The chain teamed up with famed dessert company Milk Bar to release an adorable Strawberry Bell Truffle and surprised many fans with its large Cheez-It creations, which come in Tostada and Crunchwrap forms.
The Cheez-It mashups, which also made their debut in Irving, California, were test products, but they did so well there that they sold out.
You're in luck if you missed out on a Mexican pizza on its triumphant return in May and have been waiting to get your hands on one ever since. On September 15, the Mexican Pizza is now formally scheduled to return for good.
