Many of Trader Joe's well-known products have disappeared from shelves this summer, including dog food, cat food, Dark Russet Potato Chips, and others, yet the season is still young. Some buyers have noticed indications that yet another product is being phased out.
The Rolled Corn Tortilla Chili & Lime Flavored Chips are "about to be discontinued," according to TJ's Reddit users.
The snack, which is also recognised as a Takis knockoff, is said to have momentarily run out of stock. Fans do have some good news, though, as the status of the snack may vary depending on where you are.
On August 17, a Trader Joe's customer wrote, "Takis Soon to Be Discontinued?" along with a photo of a bag of the Rolled Corn Tortilla Chili & Lime Flavored Chips bearing a sign announcing its impending removal from shelves.
The Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips Chili & Lime Flavored are still shown as TOS in their store, according to a post in the thread, which states that "A Crew member answered in the comments that their store is still showing the TOS with an ETA to their local warehouse at the end of this week."
Customers should check their local TJ's store to see the situation based on this information. Other commenters point out that it is only momentarily out of stock in the Mid-Atlantic, New Jersey, and Southern California regions.
Others who identify themselves as Trader Joe's employees claim that the term "stopped" doesn't always mean the product will be discontinued permanently; rather, the supply may currently be unstable.
Before you know it, the price of everything with cinnamon, pumpkin, butternut squash, caramel, and apple flavours will drop. The fanfare surrounding them will be enormous if this year is anything like the last one.
